NORMA KAMALI, HOW DID YOU GET YOUR START?

Access Hollywood - You Look Fantastic, what are some tips for women to growing older with class and grace?

Norma - Fitness, healthy lifestyle choices and empowered self esteem is my advice to women. If you are healthy, your hair, eyes, skin, and body look and feel good. You stand with confidence and embrace life positively. That should be your daily plan.

NORMA KAMALI, HOW DID YOU GET YOUR START?

It was the 60’s and I was working in a reservations office at an airline after I graduated from F.I.T. I found London on its early rise to revolutionary change and I would bring back fashion to my friends on my weekly trips. I decided one Sunday morning to rent a space listed in the Times. It was a tiny basement shop on a street where other little stores were opening with styles all in the new sixties look. This was a cluster of stores with a look at free style dressing and I was soon making my own styles. I got recognition for my designs within the first year with full page photos in Vogue and Bazaar. Only 45 years ago!
