Norma Kamali (NK): So how did you decide to become a blogger and when did you do that?
Madison Avenue Spy (MAS): It’s almost been four years already. I was a journalist. I wrote for the Wall Street Journal. I worked at NY Magazine for a while.
Access Hollywood - You Look Fantastic, what are some tips for women to growing older with class and grace?
Norma - Fitness, healthy lifestyle choices and empowered self esteem is my advice to women. If you are healthy, your hair, eyes, skin, and body look and feel good. You stand with confidence and embrace life positively. That should be your daily plan.
It’s never too late to make healthy choices in your life. Ultimately, how you feel will reflect on how you look, no matter your age. So many women cover up lines and wrinkles and parks of their body they don’t love rather than embracing themselves. What I found is that all those dirty little secrets we have break down our self esteem and are reflected in the way we look and in the way that people perceive us.

It was the 60’s and I was working in a reservations office at an airline after I graduated from F.I.T. I found London on its early rise to revolutionary change and I would bring back fashion to my friends on my weekly trips. I decided one Sunday morning to rent a space listed in the Times. It was a tiny basement shop on a street where other little stores were opening with styles all in the new sixties look. This was a cluster of stores with a look at free style dressing and I was soon making my own styles. I got recognition for my designs within the first year with full page photos in Vogue and Bazaar. Only 45 years ago!
This past Wednesday 15 bloggers joined together with Independent Fashion Bloggers and Intel to walk the runway. Check out the video to see the KAMALIKULTURE styles.
